"We're all told at some point in time that we can no longer play the children's game, we just don't...we don't know when that's gonna be.

Some of us are told at eighteen, some of us are told at forty, but we're all told." ~ Scout, Moneyball

About Us

Sports Padre is old-school. I usually side with the manager and I accept free-agency for what it is. I care more about the name on the front than the name on the back of a jersey.

Winning and losing is not always black and white, there is actually a big gray area in sports.

Bringing my West Coast Bias to the rest of the Sports Nation.

My favorites, in order are Major League Baseball, College Football and Pro Football. I don’t watch college basketball till conference play or the NBA till the playoffs.

I love the National League, I think pitchers should step in the batters box and managers should do something besides penciling in a designated hitter.

Home runs are nice but I will take a 2-1 game anytime. I love listening to baseball on the radio for the homer calls and the cussing in the background.

College football over pro football? Because on any Saturday, a walk-on kid can change the landscape of the BC$. You bet your mortgage on a sure thing and a 18-year-old kid from no where ruins your season, I find that priceless.

I consider the NCAA the Mafia, they provide a service but will take everything you have if you don’t watch your back.

Now it’s time for some pro football, I hate it that I have have to watch the damn games with the mute button on. Most national broadcast teams suck and treat the fans like it is our first game. For as much as we give the game, just give us some damn respect.

I cannot stand most wide-receivers and I think special-team players are under-valued. I want a salary-cap for rookies and it wouldn’t hurt the current NFLPA and owners to kick-back some scratch for the old-timers.

You may worship quarterbacks but deep down you know that the game is determined in the trenches. I miss the days of clothes lines across the middle and the secondary launching themselves into defenseless receivers.

Remember, everything posted here is just one fans opinion. My tag line is scores, scholarships and sun burns.

Scores is just what the name implies, we talk about the games and highlight the achievements. We want no-hitters and defenses that allow no one to score in the fourth quarter.

For scholarships, well that is our soft side. Every kid grows up wanting to play on the biggest stage. We list camps and tryout venues for student-athletes to try to get their shot for a college offer.

Sun burns, well that is my little touch. When I feel like ranting because of your performance or off-the-field behavior, I am going to burn you. We buy the tickets, merchandise and everything else to keep this multi-billion dollar business flowing, so I have every right to get my two cents in.

So stay tuned and enjoy the rants, maybe some day I will make it big and you will hear me doing my dream job — sports talk radio.

Thank you to my family for letting me have the time to do what I do.

Love you.

A big shout out to the biggest Sports Padre Fans!
