Stanford Cardinal The women’s tennis team won the 2013 NCAA Championship, their 17th NCAA title. They won this years championship as the lowest-seeded team every to win the title.

Montana Grizzilies The college basketball program announced an incoming transfer, forward Martin Breunig from the Washington Huskies. Breunig will have to sit one year for NCAA requirements and will be eligible for the 2014 season.

Oregon Sports Oregon House Rules committee is working a House Bill which would calls for college coaches who break NCAA rules to be held liable for financial damages incurred by universities in connection with those violations.

San Diego St Aztecs The women’s basketball program has announced Stacie Terry as their new head coach. Terry, a native from San Diego, was serving as an assistant with the LSU Tigers. Athletic Director Jim Sterk said Terry agreed to a five-year contract.

Colorado Buffaloes Offensive lineman Alexander Lewis has decided to transfer and is headed to the Big Ten to play for the Nebraska, where his father was an All-American with the Cornhuskers. Lewis was projected as returning starter at left guard for the Buffs.

San Diego St Aztecs Angelo Chol had announced his decision to depart the Arizona Wildcats basketball program and a day later has committed to return to San Diego to play for Coach Fisher and the Aztecs. Chol has two years of eligibility remaining. Union-Tribune

Colorado Buffaloes Quarterback Nick Hirschman has decided to transfer to Akron. Hirschman was competing as the starter for the Buffs during spring ball. He will be eligible to play this fall after receiving his degree and has two years of eligibility remaining.

UNLV Rebels Athletic Director Jim Livengood is retiring effective June 30th, he had been head of Rebels athletics for three and half years. Livengood is the second member of the athletics administration to step down in recent weeks. Senior associate AD of Communications DJ Allen leaves the University June 3rd.

St Mary’s Gaels The basketball program is appealing a NCAA penalty that includes the loss of two scholarships for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons and a two-year ban on skill instruction sessions for the team. Read 

Washington Huskies Basketball head coach Lorenzo Romar has announced the hiring of basketball assistant T.J. Otzelberger. Highly regarded as a top-level recruiter, Otzelberger had spent the past eight years at Iowa State.

UNLV Rebels Mike Moser has decided to leave the Rebels basketball program and is transferring closer to home to play for Oregon in the Pac-12 Conference. Moser will be working on his grad program and will be able to play immediately.
